Required heat stress posters? No - it's a scam. Some employers are calling L&I to ask if they really are required to purchase new heat stress posters being peddled by sales people. If you get such a call, be aware the answer is no. Not only is there no new heat stress poster, but if the rule required such a poster, L&I would provide it free of charge. Please ask for the name, company name and phone number of the caller. Then pass that information on the Mike Seale, Acting Compliance Manager for DOSH at (360) 902-5507. L&I is currently working with the Attorney's General's Office regarding this issue.

Comments on the proposed rule are due by August 11, 2008. <more>
